Day 6
Us with our new mentor, Ven Kat! :)
Us with our new mentor, Ven Kat! :)
Today, we learnt a new topic about Ferroelectrics; (of a substance) exhibiting permanent electric polarization that varies in strength with the applied electric field.
To start with, we brought this sample (Figure 1) to Faculty For Analysis Characterisation Testing Simulation (F.A.C.T.S) lab. We put one of the pieces inside this X-ray machine (Figure 2) and observed the graph ( figure 3)

Figure 3
Cool Machine 2!
Cool Device 3 that tests for conductivity of materials!
Cool machine 4 that can also determine the materials' chemical bonding and structures!
The papers shown in figure 1 all look the same, right? BUT amazingly, they all have different structures and bonding which CANNOT be seen by naked eyes BUT can only be seen under these cool machines! :)
Figure 3
After that, we went to another lab that is full of cool machines! ^^
Step 1: Put the sample inside this circle~
Step 2: Put that paper inside this cool machine 1~
Step 3: The results that show the type of chemical bonding and structure of the samples!~
